Simone Helle & The L.U.A. Band – ein inter-kulturelles Klangkunstwerk

Simone Helle, a jazz singer who grew up in Germany and has German-Persian roots, presents her inspiring intercultural concert project LET US AGREE with her German-Iranian ensemble "The L.U.A. Band". The current program, "LET US AGREE - Vol. 1", brings together the musical worlds of musicians from different cultural backgrounds in its Oriental Modern Jazz. Voice, santur, piano, double bass, and tombak take the audience into delicate, mystical-ethereal, earthy, or rhythmically virtuosic soundscapes. Interludes of soul and swing are framed by the compositions of Kioomars Musayyebi (santur) and Simone Helle (voice), which form the core of the program. English lyrics alternate with lyrics in Farsi, and at times the vocals consist entirely of vocal improvisation. With this range of expression in both the arrangements and the singing, the ensemble makes audible the different emotions we may encounter in exceptional circumstances, or that we long for as an emotional refuge.
