“Diverse String Dialogues”
Kioomars Musayyebi (Santur) & Andreas Heuser (Gitarre)
Kioomars Musayyebi and Andreas Heuser – both members of the world music big band Transorient Orchestra from the Ruhr region – meet musically halfway between East and West, with their instruments engaging in diverse dialogues.
They perform oriental traditional pieces in new arrangements, as well as original compositions, in which musical influences from both East and West merge.
Both musicians have a profound musical education and extensive experience in a variety of musical contexts. They are virtuoso instrumentalists and individual composers.
They creatively explore the numerous tonal and rhythmic possibilities of their instruments, blending the sounds of the 72-string Persian santur, various guitars, and violin into rich soundscapes: rhythmic, dynamic, lyrical, and meditative.
Andreas Heuser studied classical guitar, jazz guitar, and violin at the State University of Music Detmold, Institute Dortmund.
The duo is available for booking through the NRW Kultursekretariat’s support program. Details for booking can be found here: NRW KULTURsekretariat.
